#Aloha Friday... #ChampionsForKids

In Hawaii, Aloha Friday is the day that they take it easy and look forward to the weekend. So on Fridays Kailani takes it easy on posting and just asks one question! So go link up and check out the other blogs that participate at An Island Life and ask your own question...

 So my question this week...

WILL YOU BE ONE OF MILLIONS??

This past week we participated in Energizer's Light Up A Life Simple Service Project with Champions for Kids and donated to the Austin Children's Shelter. Their goal is to mobilize 20 Million people by 2020 to improve the lives of children!!

My family and I are still on a high from donating this week!! Here are two of my favorite pics from this project...
Alex filling a bag with books to donate!
Alex helping to unload the car and carry donations in!

Is that only in Hawaii? I haven't heard about it.

No, I guess I will not be one of millions.

That is fabulous. What a wonderful charity to get involved in. I love that your daughter has a part in it to. Great lesson to teach her.

Good for you! That sounds like a great way to help out and to teach your little girl about helping others. Enjoy your laid back Friday (and the rest of the weekend too!)

We will be one of millions - we're pulling together our donations this weekend. :)

LOVE the pictures and that your kids are involved, too! :)

There's an App for that

Unfortunately, because I don't have little ones around, I don't hear of these causes anymore like I did when my boys were in school and would come home with announcements.

Unrelated to this, we are going to be collecting items to take to donate to a local charity. I think we may see if the Ronald McDonald house will accept toys and if not the local domestic abuse shelter.

@Angel Forever ~ You can always report to the Champions for Kids website when you donate to the shelters... http://championsforkids.org/simple-service2/simple-service-project-reporting-form this will help them reach their goal of mobilizing 20 Million by 2020 : )

This is a great idea and I love that we have so many causes for everyone to get involved in.
We are doing something different but I've been hearing about this.

That's wonderful to set such a great example for your little girl. Awesome!

Unfortunatey, here I won't be one of those millions.

Have a happy Friday!
